Watercolors by Rainey Weathers

Song is: "On Wings of Love"

When I was growing, up I used to 'doodle' on everything. Getting married didn't change that habit either. My DH and I had a picture framing shop in 1974-1976 and he asked me one day, "Why don't you make your doodles into pictures and I'll frame them.?" I started with pen and watercolors and eventually went to pencil and watercolors, for a softer look. **Since I started painting I haven't doodled very much. J** We sold my watercolors in the framing shop, in art shows, flea markets, and in the antique shop that we had for 8 years. I paint 'miniatures'. Hope you enjoy them. I enjoyed painting them all. This page will be of birds and a nest. These paintings are ready for hanging, or you could place them on a small table easel. They look good hanging in a grouping too.

These pictures will be actual size if you have your monitor screen resolution at 800x600 pixels.

The Birds

Do you ask what the birds say?
The sparrow and the dove,
The linnet, and thrush say:
I love and I love.

In the Winter they're silent,
The wind is so strong:
What it says I don't know,
But it sings a loud song.

But green leaves and blossoms,
And sunny, warm weather,
And singing and loving,
All come back together.

Then the lark is so brimful
Of gladness and love,
The green fields below him,
The blue sky above,

That he sings and he sings,
And for ever sings he:
I love my love,
And my love loves me.

S.T. Coleridge
